Metamorfosi di Daphne

Daphne è una delle Ninfe di Magix, le quali dimoravano sotto al lago di Roccaluce.

Di lei sappiamo che si sacrificò per la sorella, proteggendola dalle Streghe Antenate che volevano impossessarsi della Fiamma del Drago, e mandandola sulla Terra. Morì divenendo uno spirito.

Daphne is one of the Nymphs of Magix, who lived in the lake of Roccaluce.

About her we know that she sacrificed herself for her sister, protecting her from the Ancestors Witches who wanted to take possession of the Dragon's Flame, and sending her on Earth. She died and became a spirit.

La nostra Ninfa, però, subisce una metamorfosi nel corso delle serie: infatti durante la quinta serie si scopre che Daphne non è affatto morta, ma vive sottoforma di spirito legato al fondo del Lago di Roccaluce a causa della maledizione scagliata sul suo Sirenix dalle Streghe Antenate al fine di distruggerla. A quel tempo Daphne era impegnata nella battaglia per salvare l’Oceano Infinito proprio dalle tre Streghe, evento che probabilmente si svolge dopo l’invio di Bloom sulla Terra, e a causa del tradimento della Ninfa Politea, sua amica, le Streghe poterono distruggerla.

Essendo però maledetta e quindi non morta, ma solo incorporea, Daphne potrebbe ritornare al suo aspetto originario se la maledizione venisse infranta. Ed è quello che succede alla fine della quinta stagione, quando grazie al Desiderio Sirenix, Bloom spezza la maledizione restituendo a Daphne il suo aspetto originario.

Our Nymph, however, undergoes a metamorphosis during the series: in fact, during the fifth series it turns out that Daphne is not dead, but she lives in spirit form bound to the bottom of Lake Roccaluce because of the curse thrown over her Sirenix by the Anchestors Witches in order to destroy her. At that time, Daphne was engaged in the battle to save the Infinite Ocean just by the three Witches, an event that probably takes place after sending Bloom on Earth, and because of the betrayal of the Nymph Politea, her friend, the Witches could destroy her.

However, since she is cursed and therefore not dead, but only incorporeal, Daphne could be back to her original aspect if the curse will be broken. And that's what happens at the end of the fifth season, when thanks to the Sirenix Wish, Bloom breaks the curse giving back to Daphne her original aspect.

Ma la metamorfosi che subisce la Ninfa non finisce qui: nella sesta serie Daphne è pronta a riprendere il suo posto come principessa ereditaria di Domino e quindi non la vedremo più con l’aspetto di Ninfa, bensì come una ragazza. Daphne appare goffa ed impacciata a causa dei tanti anni costretta a fluttuare per il suo essere incorporeo e fa fatica ad ambientarsi.

But the metamorphosis that undergoes the Nymph does not end here: in the sixth series Daphne is ready to take her place as the crown princess of Domino and then we won’t see her anymore as a Nymph, but as a girl. Daphne seems to be clunky and clumsy because of  the years when she was forced to float due to her being incorporeal and she have difficulty to become accustomed.

In più crede di aver perso il suo potere, fatto che viene poi smentito nel primo episodio quando, grazie all’intervento delle Winx, riesce a trasformarsi in Ninfa Sirenix.

Plus she believes she has lost her power, fact that is then disproved in the first episode when, thanks to the intervention of the Winx, she manages to transform into Nymph of Sirenix.

 

Questa è la storia di Daphne. Il suo aspetto fisico quando non è in forma di Ninfa ricorda una coetanea di Bloom e questo stride un po’ con il fatto che Daphne sia la sorella maggiore, ma possiamo ipotizzare che sia una sorta di “effetto collaterale” del vivere in forma di spirito a causa di una maledizione. Chissà se nel corso delle serie future ci verrà spiegato questo punto.

Certo è che di tutta la serie Daphne è il personaggio che subisce più trasformazioni e rimaneggiamenti della sua storia e dell’aspetto fisico (anche se è comunque molto carina).

This is Daphne’s story. Her physical aspect when she isn’t in Nymph form reminds someone who is the same age as Bloom and that clash a bit with the fact that Daphne is her older sister, but we can conjecture that it is a “side effect” of living in spirit form due to a curse. Who knows if during the  course of the future series there will be an explanation to this point.

What is certain is that of the whole series Daphne is the character who undergoes several transformations and alterations of her history and her physical aspect (although she is however very pretty).
